Engineering Graphics Assignment 1

DHANALAKSHMI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING Engineering Graphics Assignment Submission date : 15.11.12
1. A coin of 50 mm diameter rolls over a horizontal table without slipping. Draw the locus of a point on the circumference of the coin for one complete revolution. Name the curve
2. Draw an involute of square with side 35 mm. Assume a wire is unwound from end C in clockwise direction
3. Draw the Plan and Elevation of the given block.

4. A line AB 75 mm long has its end A both in HP and VP. The line is kept inclined at 45o to HP and 30o to VP. Draw its projections
5. The distance between the end projectors passing through the end points is 50 mm, the end A is 20 mm above HP and 15 mm infront of VP. The end B is 45 mm infront of VP. The front view of the line AB measures 65 mm. Draw the projections and find its inclinations and true length.
6. The mid point of a straight line AB 90 mm long is 60 mm above HP and 50 mm infront of VP. It is inclined at 30o to HP and 45o to VP. Draw its projections.
7. A Straight line AB has its end A 20 mm above HP and 25 mm infront of VP. The other end B is 60 mm above HP and 65 mm infront of VP. The ends of the line are on the same projector. Draw its projections. Find the true inclinations and apparent angles.

8. A pentagonal lamina of side 30 mm is resting on HP with one of its corners. The surface is at 60o to HP. The edge opposite to this corner is parallel to VP and nearer to it. Draw its projections.
9. Draw the projections of a circular thin plate of diameter 50 mm resting on ground on a point 1 on the circumference, its plane inclined at 45o to HP and plan of the diameter making 30o with VP.
10. A hexagonal plate of side 20 mm rests on HP on one of its sides inclined at 45o to VP. The surface of the plate makes an angle of 30o to HP. Draw the front and top views of the plate.
11. A rectangular plate of side 75x25 mm is resting on its shorter side on HP and inclined at 30o to VP. Its surface is inclined at 60o to HP. Draw its projections.
12. Mark the projections of the following points on a common reference line:
P, 25 mm below HP and in VP
Q, 35 mm behind VP and in HP
R, 30 mm below HP and 30 mm infront of VP
S, 25 mm above HP and 25 mm behind VP
T, 25 mm above HP and 30 mm infront of VP.
U, in both HP and VP.
V, 35 mm below HP and 50 mm behind VP.
W, 30 mm above HP and 40 mm behind VP.
